2016 Taiwan-EU Seminar on Trade Secrets
2016 Taiwan-EU seminar on trade secrets is held on September 21 by TIPO, EETO, and EBRC. Several European organization officials, including DG Trade Policy Officer Jorg Weberndorfer of the European Commission, Head Prosecutor Jan Østergarrd from Denmark, and Ms. Elizabeth Jones from the UKIPO’s Copyright & IP Enforcement Directorate, are invited to share their opinions and have a discussion with judges, prosecutors, policemen, investigators, the private sectors, as well as scholars and experts of Taiwan. The topics ranges from EU’s Trade Secrets Directive, business strife prohibition for workers and impact thereby cause, potential trade secrets identifying, damages calculation damages, how to maintain confidentiality throughout the entire course of litigation, Taiwan’s trade secret legal regimes and practices, and the challenges encountered upon trade secrets protection. The seminar provides an in-depth understanding upon different dimensions of law execution and regulation status of Taiwan and EUs trade secrets protection enforcement, which will benefit the future development of renewing and practicing Taiwan’s trade secrets act.
